Adidas Basketball '15 Fall Films

Produced, storyboards, concept, directed, shot, and edited by Shale

Commissioned by Adidas, Shale created, directed, shot, produced, and edited a series of short films as launch content for Fall 2015. Though the imagery, Shale created the "Pillars of a Hero", which celebrates the basketball hero's multi-dimensional strengths, and embeds our imprint that shines through even the most versatile life of a basketball hero. 

This successfully branded Fall 2015 basketball collections, resulting in increased sales from international buyers, and overall Adidas global basketball brand awareness.

Shale played a key role in creating the direction, and ideology of the collection for Adidas Fall '15.    

The resulting films are some of the stunning visuals for the "hero", behind the collection. Working with one of the most distinguished sporting garment collections, each image was richly detailed and all accompanied by a series of images.

Three First National Plaza

Commissioned by Hines Interests, from initial logo development through to brand launch. The 70 West Madison mark was brought to life through photography, motion, and a website, to create a leasing centric space for interested parties. 

The website brought attention to international investors, as well as Hearn Company, whom then took management from Hines Interests.

Adidas  - '16 Fall/Winter Lookbook  

Adidas global basketball commissioned Shale to provide images of future seasonal products totaling over 200 final photos for Adidas Global Basketball Apparel. The photos were taken on a basketball court. The photos were then distributed internally across all Adidas categories, as well as presented at Adidas Brand Conference in October 2015.

Adidas  - '16 Fall/Winter Studio Styling

Adidas global basketball commissioned Shale to provide studio styling photography for more than 15 different looks, totaling over 100 final photos for Adidas Global Basketball Apparel. The photos were then distributed internally across all Adidas categories.

Adidas  - '16 Fall/Winter Footwear & Off Court Apparel  

Adidas global basketball commissioned Shale to provide images of future seasonal products totaling over 150 final photos for Adidas Global Basketball Apparel. The photos were taken at various locations. The photos were then distributed internally across all Adidas categories.

Adidas  - '16 Spring/Summer Studio

Adidas global basketball commissioned Shale to provide studio styling photography for more than 30 different looks, totaling over 150 final photos for Adidas Global Basketball Apparel. The photos were then distributed internally across all Adidas categories.

The garments included all NBA Icon Apparel (Derrick Rose, John Wall, and Damian Lillard), as well as NBA Authentic gear. 

Shale also provided an exploratory set of imagery, to further provide basketball with creative editorial branding.

Nike 2014 World Cup Apparel Launch Event

Commissioned by Nike, Twist was assigned to document the launch event at the Nike World Headquarters for apparel associated with the 2014 World Cup.

The imagery was used as launch content for the brand, building global product awareness, as well as a platform for future social media planning and integration. The event explored the notion that every person conceives a unique response to the same challenge and product, which individuals used hashtags to collectively share their point of view.

Adidas Global Basketball
for Fall 2017 in NYC

Visualizing the current state of basketball culture in NYC through story, imagery and film for
 Future Seasonal Inspiration & Insights

The Adidas Basketball Design team asked Shale to spend two weeks in NYC, presenting anthropological and research findings and insights to the Adidas using a plethora of captured imagery in NYC.

Using films and imagery created within first few days of the study, Shale successfully enlightened the Adidas design team on NYC basketball culture and life, as well as created conceptual fashion films and brand directions for 2017.

Shale played a key role in creating the direction, and ideology of the collection for Adidas Fall '17.   

Working with one of the most distinguished sporting garments, each image was richly detailed and informative for the design team. The resulting films are some of the stunning visuals for the "Wolves" concept, behind the collection.

Adidas Global Basketball – Journey to Finding the Essence of Basketball Report

 An Initial Introduction & Approach to Future Seasonal Inspiration & Insights

Shale aims to infuse anthropology with other social sciences to examine how it can influence design decisions and philosophies behind the Adidas brand. Shale's report can be used in many ways and speaks on different levels. Primarily, this inspirational piece serves as way of exploring varying conceptual directions to stimulate Adidas Basketball designers.
